This rug is perfect for our play space by my daughter's play kitchen. It's soft and does not shed. I read in some other people's comments that they thought it had a funny smell, but all rugs have a "fresh carpet" smell when you first get them. It did not smell funny to me, just a "new" smell, and it was gone within a couple days. I had a non-slip pad already and cut it to fit the size of the circle, which worked great. Also, the wrinkles (from being rolled up) came out nicely. Overall, a great rug for a great price!
