People generally think Baptists are not a "creedel" people. Look, for instance, at the Prebyterians. They have councils (synods), short and large catechisms, and a confession that sums up the basic beliefs of the denomination. It would seem since there is nothing like this for the Baptists, they are "different." However, history has shown that Baptists are actually a creedel people! (It would also appear the Southern Baptist Convention has been attempting to unify the denomination.) In this book, there are 10 confessions of faith from various places and various times (including the London Baptist Confession of Faith). There are 17 covenants. Plus, there are three catechisms! Even one for "Babes" (little ones) if you wish to catechize your children.
This is a truly great resource! It is easy to read and some of the language has been updated from the archaic spellings and meanings (without removing the true meaning of the statement) to make it more readable for people of all ages. Plus, Timothy George, editor along with Denise George, included a brief history of the Bpatist denomination and a brief overview of the confessions, covenants, and cathecisms. I would highly recommend this resource to be included in your study library.
