These flutes would be great fun - if they didn't leak!

These flutes would be great fun - if they didn't leak!
Four of the five flutes leaked very badly at the joint where the clear tube meets the color portion at the bottom (see picture). It was impossible for even an adult to fill, tune all five tubes and then play anything with these since the water leaked out so quickly. The drain cock in the color portion did work perfectly. My four year old grandson loved the idea of this toy and was very disappointed that he couldn't use it.

My 3 year old absolutely loves this toy. She got it for Christmas and had to take a bath right away. My two 12 year olds and 14 year old decided they had to help her with her bath. Needless to say, the older girls had so much fun creating music and played several of the songs together. They even had to put on a show.
It is very educational to teach music and sounds. Now the older girls fight over who gets to take a bath with the 3 year old and play with her in the tub.
The reason to plug your ears? My 3 year old is constantly playing the flutes, in and out of the tub. Even though she doesn't have water in them when they are out of the tub, that doesn't stop her from walking around the house tooting her horns.
The good... so many different notes that can be created by adding and removing the water. Very easy for small children to use. Comes with coated music cards that will stick to the tub when wet. Great learning tool. All my girls age 3-14 love it and have fun.
The bad... make sure you teach your child to keep the flute tipped down. If they tip it up, they get flooded from the water flowing out. The foam stand is cheap and doesn't work the greatest. Parts of the stickers for the letters were peeled when I took it out of the box. I had to hot glue some of the corners and sides down.
Overall, my daughter is happy, so I am happy. Just have to get some ear plugs! :)

These flutes are great! My one year old and my 3.5yr olds love them. They weren't expensive, they are easy to use and easy enough to clean.
Down side: The labels on the flutes are stickers. So if you want them to stay on you need to take really good care of them. Mine aren't old enough to play the songs so the music sheets aren't used, but they love wetting them and sticking them on the tub wall!
If they leave the valve at the bottom unscrewed the flute fills with water quickly when submerged and it becomes a fun slide whistle if they blow as the water runs out the bottom. My kids LOVE the change in pitch as they blow!
Super great purchase!

Got this for my 3 year old to start replacing bath toys. Although I do believe they have spent more time out of the tub attempting to annoy everything in the house. It is a neat little toy. Fill each tube up with water to the different music not line and then blow to create that tone. They will come out of the blue holder and can be used independently. I do wish it had a suction cup of something to keep them stored on the wall or something, but for what it is it has been a good addition to bath time...and anytime when she feels like taking them out of the tub.

This is the best toy ever--why don't they market it for adults?! My husband and I like playing with this at least as much as our 20-month-old daughter. I love that it's easy to use and fun to play with. If I had to do it again, I'd probably just buy the single one. I understand that the concept of buying five at once is so you can play a whole range of notes. We're not that coordinated, though. The tones are really nice and we have fun with them. We hear the tooting of the flutes from the bathroom when we leave for a sec during bathtime. If your little one likes musical instruments then this is a fun addition to the out-of-the-bath instruments that are readily available. (Plus, you can actually use this out of the bath, too. No reason why you can't add some water from the sink!)

Cute toy and idea. However, the foam flute holder does NOT work well. With water in them making them heavier and a wet/slippery foam, the flutes do not stay in place. They slip down and/or out of the foam holder all together. Still, my 2 year old enjoys using them one at a time. As she gets older, it would be neat to be able to use the music cards to play a song...IF the flutes could stay in place. Educationally, even my 2 year old realizes they sound different with various levels of water in each flute. She'll add water, remove it, etc. to see how the sound changes. A nice idea would be to add a edge so it's more evident to younger ages where their mouth should stop in order to blow into the flutes. It's more difficult for a younger child to know they can't cover the top hole or the sound won't come out. A stronger holder, and the lip alteration would simply expand the target age group.

My son loves playing these in the tub! He sticks the song sheet on the side of the bath with water, fills each flute to the line depending which song he’s chosen, and then tries to play the notes. He also enjoys dunking it and randomly filling the flutes and blowing into them to see what sounds he can make! Highly recommend these for a fun tub time activity. I can imagine we might take these outside for water play during the summer.

I love these because my kids love them - they're a bit loud for me! :-) The concept is great - fill water in each flute to different levels to make the different notes - although I doubt the musical accuracy. It comes with some (mostly) waterproof "sheet music" for the kids to follow along and play songs and gives them some practice making music and having fun in the bath. Get yourself a nice set of earplugs and let kids of multiple ages have a great time playing with these flutes!
Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2021
I love the idea of this! But it isn’t really made with any kind of practicality in mind. Any toy for kids that has water in it should have the ability to be completely drained, cleaned, and dried to prevent mold/mildew growth. This one has a way to drain water, but no ability to get into it and clean it properly. The kids snuck it outside and got some mud/sediment in it and it was done. $30 is pricey, but it’s a complete waste if it can’t be cleaned properly, even if only kept in the bath. Don’t waste your money unless you’re ok with your kids ingesting mold and mildew eventually.

Nothing wrong with the product itself but they actually make very annoying shrill noises in the hands of smaller children who are in capable of reading the sheet music. I doubt the children who are able to follow along in a more advanced we are likely to be playing with toys in the bathtub.

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect for the bath time
Reviewed in Canada on October 25, 2016
My son loves it, perfect for the bath time, and really a nice upgrade to the old water whistle I used to have as a kid.
Nice addition is that my older kids get to understand how a note is built based on space in the cylinder.
Feels sturdy so it should not break anytime soon.

Nice touch to have something to hold them together, prevents clutter in the bathroom as well
