I read the disclaimer before I purchased these, but I also read other reviews and figured it was safe to assume I would receive what is pictured. Also, there are so many pictures of this product posted that one would assume that is what you were buying. Instead I received 6 bags of Sumatra that look to be labeled for another country. I have uploaded photos. They do not have the star redemption code, they do not specify that I can use the empty bag for a cup of coffee and worst of all, they expire March 11, 2014. That is less than a month from now. I am wondering if they are really Starbucks products or grey goods?UPDATE: I tried to return this coffee and it is not returnable. I called Amazon and they gave me a refund. Thanks you Amazon. Great customer service.

I realize that coffee is a subjective thing. Some folks love the bold flavors, some prefer the lighter flavors. I love the bold! For my taste, Starbucks Sumatra is THE best coffee I've ever had. It is consistently good. I drink it black and even though it has a very bold flavor, it is not bitter or harsh. It is wonderful! I've made it using just about every method out there from pour over drip manual filters, to aero press to French press to Chemex. I grind my beans to order depending on the brewing method employed. Fantastic!

Purchased this and got the same type of weird expiration-date-punched-out packaging that others have described. Amazon reimbursed. Tried the coffee in a few cups over the past two days. It tastes flat, with a burnt flavor. The beans look to be Arabica but is it genuinely Starbucks Sumatra? Certainly not the flavorful kind we are used to getting from the grocery shelves. The taste profile is a tad lighter than a French roast with a bit more depth than the beans usually used for a French roast. On reflection, I do think the beans are probably from Indonesia because I do not detect the sharper acidity of (say) a S. American. So I say possibly genuine but old and flat.

First of all, Starbucks Sumatra blend is one of my all time favorites. However, to buy this at package for $1.04 per ounce when Starbucks sells it for $0.87 per ounce is not how I like to spend my money. I'm surprised that Amazon send me an email touting this offer.
